How to setup Active Directory Group access restrictions in QlikView 9

by QVApps on April 12, 2010

We found this little gem from Philippe on the ShareQlikView section and we felt the urge to share it in a more readable/shareable format.

So, what does this document tell you:? As Philippe wrote here’s pretty much what it does:

For security purposes, we may want to restrict accesses to specific QV documents.  By using QV 9 built-in features with Windows Active Directory, we can easily achieve that by following this walk through.

The document is an excellent tutorial on how to setup active directory to restrict group access to data in QlikView 9.

See the document below and our sincere thanks to Philippe for sharign this. We are sure the whole community will appreciate.

Hi,

i read the document. In the last words of the document he says “i did’nt test it with iexplorer because it doesn’t let me to change the user(because of ntlm)”

But if you do the settings below you can change the user

In internet explorer , go to ools>internet options>security tab>Custom Level. In the bottom of it you will see the user authentication part.Select prompt for user and password there and then you’ll see that it will ask you user and password.

Thanks
